What an exciting week-end!

My goodness, the good things roll in all together and this week-end has seen some really good moments. The cricket - well! Saturday was a bit worrying, but today's play has so far, restored the onus to the English side. Sadly the weather has seen fit to stick its oar in, I am sure we could have won on our playing merit rather than face an ignominious draw. However, I have not been a total couch potato you will be glad to hear, I save all my polishing and window cleanng in the sitting room for one test match a year, then I find that these domestic chores are an unnoticeable event, even the ironing gets done without raising my blood pressure! The television rotates easily and follows me around the room so I don't miss any of the action. Go England!
Then last night was also the Last Night of the Proms, and wow wasn't that counter tenor fantastic! I don't normally enjoy too much of the male solo voice, except for one special person in the 70's and 80's, but this man last night was incredible. As was the link up for the fanfares with all the other parts of the UK who were taking part. Seriously good!
Just before that came the highlight of the week-end and if I am honest - even allowing for the Himalayas, of the year. I glanced out of the window to the darkening skies in the garden to see some bats fly out of the fascia boards on the porch, it was time to catch their supper. Their flight patterns are so lovely to watch in the evenings. This is so exciting; they have stayed away for several years and I am thrilled to have them back. Now I wonder if I can adapt their diet to eating flying slugs? I would willingly collect them during the day and throw them around for an evening snack for the bats.

My sister has an obsession with bats. She even bought a "bat box" to hang on her front porch. She is hoping to have some make a home soon!
