Weather Forecast

'They' are forecasting snow for tomorrow, wouldn't it be lovely if we had that lovely powdery stuff that is fabulous to play in? The sledges could come out, we could nave snowball fights and enjoy it.
So come on weather - do your best please?

You won't know what to do with yourself.

Nearly everyone has made this comment about life after a dissertation. Well, yestaerday I went for some retail therapy to my favourite (sorry DLG OUR favourite) clothes shop. Last night I allowed myself more than one glass of wine after my meal. Oh bliss! Today, I bought the Sunday paper as usual, then spent about an hour and a half reading it - whilst drinking some real coffee.
Lunch then followed and this is what I have been really looking forward to - I cooked a meal! No chucking pasta into a suacepan and adding pesto, no! The first course was cream of watercress soup, beautifully green! (I must buy a new seive, the old one which is about 20 years old, now has a huge hole in it) This was followed by some decious smoked salmon from the Scottish Isles with the most yummy dip. A grated apple, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, half a tub of creme fraiche and 1 teaspon of dill mustard. (OK, there's no cooking involved, but i did grate the apple! And this is only day 1 of the rest of my life!)That is so delicious, I can recommend it folks. This was accompanied by a couple of slices of walnut bread, some unsouped watercress and a tomato. Pud was a freah mango.
I admit there is very little cooking involved, the kitchen still looks like a bomb has hit it - there's the only drawback to real cooking, the washing up!

Most people

boast of leaning on the door of a pub, waiting for the landlord to 'open up'. I was there for opening time at the Post Office this morning - yes, the dissertation has gone to the judge - wherever he may preside!
At this moment I am just so happy that it is all over, all I can think of is finding the surface of all tables and work-tops. Any paper with an academic print out is facing a long incarceration in a large box with a lid. What is more, it will be cold, that box is going into the garage - out of my sight!

The Dissertation

It is done - finished, copied, bound, packed up and ready to go off in the post tomorrow.
Here's to the resumption of normal life. I am so tired....

We're almost there!

I have in front of me a first print out of the dissertation, ready for the final proof read, then I must print and bind it. The last ask of all is to send it off and then?
Well, you might hear the screams of joy, I shall be so happy to have finished this challenge.

Valentine's Day

...and how am I celebrating it? By writing 2000 words and getting so angry with Excel, I expect the sky above my little house is blue! But I am almost at the end of this 5 year marathon called a degree. (Why oh why did I start this?!! Answers please on a post card...)
